by Shane Bediz and Simona Marginean

e-STORAGE is committed to driving sustainable energy solutions throughout North America, a region poised for significant growth in renewable energy adoption. Our recent projects showcase our ability to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique challenges and opportunities of the US market.

Energy Storage Project Highlights

e-STORAGE has deployed more than 5 GWh DC of battery energy storage solutions across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and China.

Some of our major projects in the US:

Project Energy Capacity
Papago, US 1519 MWh
Borden County, US 363 MWh
Roadrunner, US 1008 MWh
Mustang, USA 300 MWh
Crimson I, USA 800 MWh
Crimson II, USA 600 MWh
Slate, USA 561 MWh

 Aypa Power, Borden County, Texas

Our partnership with Aypa Power in Borden County, Texas, led to the successful deployment of a 363 MWh battery energy storage project. This initiative is a testament to our dedication to meeting the region’s increasing demand for reliable and efficient energy storage solutions. The project features cutting-edge technology designed to provide seamless energy integration and support for the Texas energy grid.

Aypa Power, Cald, Southern California
In Southern California, we collaborated with Aypa Power on the Cald project, a 487 MWh energy storage system that bolsters the state’s ambitious renewable energy goals. This project underscores our commitment to delivering high-performance energy storage solutions in areas with high energy demand. The Cald project is a vital component in ensuring grid stability and reliability in Southern California.

Aypa Power, Bypass Project, Fort Bend County, Texas
The Bypass Project, located near Thompsons, Texas, is one of our most advanced projects, featuring a 498 MWh DC standalone battery energy storage system. Scheduled for completion in Q3 2025, this project is strategically positioned to support the growing energy needs of the greater Houston area.

Papago Storage Project, Arizona

e-STORAGE partners with our sister company Recurrent Energy on the groundbreaking Papago Storage project in Arizona, where we will deliver 1,200 MWh (1,519 MWh DC nominal) of advanced energy storage solutions. Set to begin construction in the third quarter of 2024, this project will become one of the world’s largest standalone energy storage installations and the largest of its kind in Arizona.

Roadrunner Reserve System Project, Arizona

e-STORAGE is partnering with DEPCOM Power, Inc. and Tucson Electric Power (TEP) on the Roadrunner Reserve System project in Arizona, to supply and integrate 1 GWh DC of energy storage solutions for what will become the largest energy storage system on TEP’s grid and one of the largest in Arizona. This project is designed to power approximately 42,000 homes for up to four hours, significantly enhancing grid reliability and supporting TEP’s renewable energy goals.

Slate Solar-Plus-Storage Project, California

The Slate project in Kings County, California, is a significant milestone in our portfolio, combining 300 MWac of solar power with 140.25 MW / 561 MWh of energy storage. This project marks Canadian Solar’s largest solar-plus-storage initiative.  Leveraging our advanced battery storage integration solution, the Slate project will generate enough low-cost, clean energy to power approximately 126,000 homes in California.

Crimson Storage, California

The Crimson Storage project, a 350 MW / 1400 MWh standalone energy storage system, is now operational in Riverside County, California, marking it as the largest single-phase battery storage project in the world and the second largest overall. Developed by Recurrent Energy and primarily owned by Axium Infrastructure, with CSI Energy Storage as the turnkey system integrator, Crimson Storage plays a vital role in enhancing grid reliability and supporting California’s clean energy goals. The project, which is contracted with SCE and PG&E, will power over 47,000 homes annually while displacing up to 275,000 tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to removing 53,000 cars from the road.

e-STORAGE provides the technology and expertise to ensure that your solar and energy storage projects in US and beyond are not just operational but exceptional. We’re eager to explore how e-STORAGE and SolBank 3.0 can drive the success of your renewable energy projects across North America and beyond.
