A Transformative Step for Energy Storage Innovation in the U.S.

We are excited to announce the grand opening of our cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, Kentucky, a monumental step in our journey toward building a more sustainable energy future. Representing a $712 million investment, this project will create 1,572 high-tech jobs and is the largest economic development initiative in Shelby County’s history.

 “We are proud to be a part of the growing energy technology transformation across the U.S., and we are thrilled to announce our investment in a new, state-of-the-art industrial battery cell, module, and packaging plant in Shelbyville, Kentucky that will employ over 1,500 Kentuckians,” said President of e-STORAGE, Colin Parkin. “This new plant will allow us to provide our U.S. customers with cutting-edge, American-made battery energy storage products.”

What Makes This Facility Special?

Located at 140 Logistics Drive, the 1-million-square-foot plant will manufacture utility-scale battery energy storage systems. These self-contained, modular solutions are crucial to advancing renewable energy adoption across the United States by making solar and wind energy reliable and dispatchable.

  • Initial Production Capacity: 3 GWh annually, doubling to 6 GWh in subsequent years.
  • Focus on Innovation: The facility features an on-site research and development lab, fostering collaboration with universities to continually evolve our technologies.
  • Local and National Impact: This investment strengthens Kentucky’s growing role in the energy storage industry and provides sustainable job opportunities for the community.
